Days 27-28

Today has been another fabulous travel day. My plane actually boarded on time and was at the end of the runway when our pilot got word that Dulles airport had a 'ground block' (whatever that means) and that we'd get an update in 45 minutes. In these situations, they turn the planes off (duh) which means no air = icky hotness. An hour later, they came back on to announce the block had been lifted and we would be leaving in 15 minutes. 20 mins later, mr pilot announced that Dulles 'was teasing us' (his words, no lie) and that the block was back on. This went on and on. Long story short, we finally took off after 2 and 1/2 hrs on the tarmac. This put me in DC just in time for rush hour, which meant a 2-hr drive to my destination instead of the expected 1. Speaking of final destination, it's guessing game time!

The city I'm in:
  • Is 1-2 hrs from Dulles airport, depending on traffic
  • Is the location of the bi-annual N-SSA national competition keeping the tradition of Civil War era firearms alive (thanks wikipedia)
  • Is the location of the museum of Shenandoah Valley
  • Really has no other exciting facts

I do get to drive one of these around though:

Sadly, Mine did not come with snowboards

So I'm sure you've been wondering how much work JTC got done one his first week back from vacation. Especially since we busted ourselves all weekend to get everything done for his return.
  • Monday: talked to Michael about the week's plan
  • Today: Sliding glass door arrived in parts. Sliding glass door assembled. Sliding glass door not put in.
Blurry pics from phone as I dashed out the door to the airport:

It should look something like this one of these days:

Now that there are 3 days remaining for JTC to meet his (most recent) self-defined deadline, things sure will be looking different when I return home!
