After the first part of the project was complete, operations moved indoors.
10. Frame built, time to cut the fabric:

(in case you could not picture what this step looked like, I included a visual)
11. Fabric not long enough to cover our freakishly large cornice. Pieces must be fitted together. Trying to align the patterns is tricky for a beginner like moi!

12. Attach pieces to make one long piece:

13. Drape over cornice to make sure it's long enough. Check!

14. Back at the staple gun to secure fabric to its new home:

15. Now its time for the cording. The worst part. I found a few videos (on my favorite youtube, of course) that helped. I should have watched them all though instead of stopping after I figured out how to cut the pieces at 45 degree angles:

16. You can't tell from this shot, but I didn't do the best job at sewing the welt cord into the fabric pieces (I also missed a step where I had to attach the pieces together. It was not my finest moment):

17. Welting goes on!

18. Tack strip stapled on top of additional fabric that will cover the back of the cornice:

19. Whelp, that's pretty much it!

Before & Afters coming soon.
