This weekend was another whirlwind adventure. Saturday, we headed up to Asheville for another race. Poor husband was a trooper, cheering in the sidelines in his boot. We stopped at the J.Crew warehouse along the way because Michael needed some clothes. You can imagine whose items ended up dominating the receipt. Oops. I don't think they have a website, but they're located at 1 Clifford Way in Arden, NC if you're ever up that way. Some great deals!

Saturday afternoon, we were sipping some local brews at a cute little wine bar in downtown Asheville with the rents when a family friend from my hometown strolled by (Will Sharp for all you Mo-towners). Turns out his son's band was playing right down the street, so of course we had to stop by (Mipso Trio - they're great - check 'em out!). Brews + concert = not the best pre-race regimen, but what can ya do.

The race didn't start till 2pm on Sunday, which was pretty lame because we had to dread it nearly all day. And it was all uphill - 1500 feet climb in 3 miles. In the end, it was all worth it b/c we were greeted at the top by a honey and hops festival. I definitely recommend it next year if you're in the area!

Getting pumped:

Enjoying the hops at the top (I spare you of photos during the race, as I can assure you they'd be none too glamorous):

Beautiful day for a festival:

  1. Sounds like a wonderful weekend (minus the uphill race). We caught Mipso Trio in Motown last Christmas and they are amazing. So proud of little Jacob!!
