Trim gets sewed on to back of skirt, then flipped over:

So nice, it required two shots:

After reading and re-reading the same step over and over about 10 times, the button loops get made:

Then attached (attempt one: button loops attached to wrong wrong side of skirt):

Attempt 2 (1 hour and many curse words later): button loops attached right side of skirt:

Trim goes on (this is round 1 of trim attachment. rounds 2 & 3 were not documented due to repeated failure followed by utter frustration):

Lessons learned:
Do not use Amy Butler's tree skirt pattern unless you are very patient. Or are good at sewing. Or want to contact me for some crucial tips.
